CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Thursday, April 28, 2022) – Six Iowa Federation of Republican Women were elected to the Iowa GOP Central Committee at the Iowa district conventions held last weekend across the state, representing each of Iowa’s four Congressional districts.

“Members of Republican Women groups are strong, involved, and committed at all levels,” IowaFRW President Barbara Hames-Bryant said today in a statement. “We congratulate all the newly elected State Central Committee men and women, especially our IowaFRW members. This is an honor, as well as a huge commitment, as Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses require significant extra effort from the Central Committee.”

Those newly elected to the State Central Committee who are voting and associate members of IowaFRW are: IowaFRW 1st Vice President Michelle Crawford and David Barker from District 1; Bernie Hayes from District 2; Kelley Koch and Trudy Caviness from District 3; and Starlyn Perdue from District 4.

Membership in IowaFRW is open to women ages 18 and over who are registered Republicans in Iowa. Republican men and youth under age 18 may join as associate members. IowaFRW is affiliated with Republican Women clubs across the state, the Republican Party of Iowa, and the National Federation of Republican Women.

“The Republican Party of Iowa, is a grassroots-driven vehicle to elect Republicans who have won their primaries. It is the role of the State Central Committee and delegates to translate our party’s goals, core beliefs, and issues into a statewide platform and to expand our Republican base without sacrificing our principles,” explained Jeff Kaufmann, Iowa GOP Chair.

The Iowa Federation of Republican Women (www.iowafrw.org) is the premier organization for uniting the voices and values within the Republican Party, and is part of the National Federation of Republican Women, founded in 1938. The NFRW (www.nfrw.org) is the largest and most influential women’s political organization in the nation, proudly representing the party that first made it possible for women to vote in the United States, and working to increase the effectiveness and relevance of women in the cause of good government.
